Return & Refund Policy

Every work sold through this shop is an original painting or monotype — one of a kind, packed and sent personally from the studio at Oremandsgaard. I hope each work finds the right home the first time, but if it doesn't, here is how returns work.

Your right of withdrawal (14 days)

As a consumer in the EU, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the work, without giving a reason. To exercise this right, email me at jakob@jakobsteen.com within those 14 days, stating clearly that you wish to cancel. You do not need to use a specific form.

Returning the work

Once you have notified me, you have 14 days to send the work back to:

Jakob Steen
Oremandsgaard Allé 2
4720 Præstø
Denmark

Please use the original packaging (or equivalent protective packaging — these are fragile, one-of-a-kind objects). You are responsible for the cost of return shipping and for the work until it reaches me, so I recommend an insured, tracked service.

Your refund

I will refund the full purchase price, including the original standard delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the returned work (or documentation that you have sent it), using the same payment method you paid with. I may reduce the refund if the work has been handled beyond what is necessary to inspect it and its value has diminished as a result.

Damaged in transit

If a work arrives damaged, photograph the packaging and the damage before unpacking further, and email the photos to jakob@jakobsteen.com as soon as possible — ideally within a few days of delivery. Because each work is unique, a replacement is not possible; you will receive a full refund, including all shipping costs, or, where repair is realistic and acceptable to you, a professional restoration at my expense.

Commissioned works

Works made to your specification (commissions and personalised pieces) are exempt from the right of withdrawal under EU law. This will always be stated clearly before you commit to a commission.

Statutory rights

Nothing here limits your rights under the Danish Sale of Goods Act, including the two-year right to complain about defects present at delivery.
