Shipping policy

Shipping

Each work is packed by hand at the studio at Oremandsgaard and sent as an insured, tracked shipment. Original works deserve careful packing, so I take the time to do it properly.

Preparation and dispatch

Each work is prepared and checked by hand before it ships, and any framing is carried out professionally. Because every piece is finished individually, preparation times vary from work to work. Once you have ordered, I will confirm the expected dispatch date with you by email and keep you updated until your work is on its way.

If you need a work to arrive by a particular date, please write to me at jakob@jakobsteen.com before you order, so I can confirm the timing can be met and we avoid any disappointment.

Delivery

Once your work has been dispatched, delivery usually takes:

  • Denmark: typically 2–4 business days.
  • Rest of the EU: typically 3–7 business days.
  • Outside the EU: typically 1–3 weeks, depending on destination and customs.

You will receive a tracking link by email when your work is on its way. Shipping costs are shown at checkout before you pay.

Customs and import charges (outside the EU)

Orders delivered outside the EU may be subject to import VAT, duties, or handling fees charged by the destination country. These are set by your local authorities, are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost, and are the buyer's responsibility. Original works of art are in many countries subject to a reduced import VAT rate — your local customs authority can advise.

Insurance and safe arrival

Every shipment is insured against loss and damage in transit. If a work arrives damaged, photograph the packaging and the damage and email jakob@jakobsteen.com within a few days of delivery — I will put it right at no cost to you. See also the Return & Refund Policy.
